We help families understand the change in roles that occurs overtime between seniors and their children. For instance, it can be a sensitive issue for an adult child to gage how much decision making to take over and what to leave in the province of a senior parent. For these adult children there is also the challenge of balancing their own lives, families and careers. If this is not handled well it can lead to tension, frustration and conflict. It can be tempting for adult children to withdraw under stress and unfortunately at precisely the time when family involvement and support is such a crucial factor in how well the transition occurs.

At America’s CareGivers we are equipped to assist your family’s transition through our specialized staff of geriatric experts and key industry advisors. But we suggest that you take a different approach to sharing than perhaps you might expect. Although you could share your family’s transition challenges we encourage you to share, to celebrate, the wealth of information your adult parent possesses. They have lived a long time and learned a lot. Let’s honor them by telling their stories to the betterment of us all.
